Personality:
Born from Hershel and Annette, Beth is the third child of the Greene family. She has a half-sister, Maggie (from Hershel's first marriage) and a half-brother, Shawn (from Annette's first marriage). Raised on the farm owned by her father, Beth doesn't seem to know much of the outside world. She does not really care, the simple but rewarding life of the rural countryside and the time spent with her loved ones being quite enough for her.

As the Zombie Apocalypse unleashes, Beth retires in Hershel's farm with her family and a few friends. Among them is Jimmy, her boyfriend of three months. The importance of this relationship is never clearly addressed but after Jimmy's death, Beth makes it clear that she wasn't going to spend her life with him.

However, her love for her family is infinite and deep. She is particularly close to Maggie and would do anything for her, even giving up her own life. This is why Beth is ready to go to the Governor's town to save kidnapped Maggie and Glenn, even doubting of Rick's abilities to take a decision about the rescue mission.

Religious but not fanatic, Beth and Hershel share a strong faith in God and try to live following His principles. Like her father, she believes the walkers to be only sick and that the world will go back to normality once a cure will be found. For those reasons, she easily accepts the walkers' presence in the farm's barn, especially because Annette and Shawn are among them.

After the definite death of her mother and brother, Beth temporarily loses faith in the world and even considers suicide. Finally confronted with the choice to die or live, she ultimately chooses life, scared of the pain of killing herself. Her will to fight for her family and the ones dear to her also has a strong part in her decision, as well as not wanting to be a coward in her deceased mother's eyes.

Shy and discreet, Beth shows a growing self-confidence with the arrival of Rick's group. She becomes more active around the farm and interacts regularly with the newcomers. She even asks to be trained to fight and wield weapons. During the prison events, she is seen using a gun, a crowbar and taking care of the group's weapons stock as well as ammunition.

Soft, sweet, trying to remain as optimistic as possible, Beth doesn't like arguments, often stepping out of them or trying to stop them. She also makes her opinion heard as much as possible, even questioning the others' decisions, especially when the safety of the ones she loves is at stake. Very protective, she not only keeps an eye on her family but also on Carl, especially after Lori's death. Aware of the young boy's crush on her, she doesn't 'chastise' him for it but doesn't respond to it either, seeing him only like a kind of younger brother.

Beth's help is very appreciated and needed at the prison where she also quickly becomes baby Judith's main caretaker and is often seen holding the little girl or feeding her. She reveals to Carol that she always desired a child, showing a big maternal instinct, to the point of others mistaking her for Judith's mother. Beth truly enjoys this new role, finding herself useful and finally able to blossom into womanhood.

As the months pass, after the arrival of the Woodbury inhabitants, Beth finds hope in a possible happy and quiet future at the prison, though she still prepares for the worse. Emotionally stronger, she's able to deal with the death of others more easily, as it is shown when her boyfriend Zach is killed. As she says to Michonne, being hurt is part of the package when caring for others.

During the flu outbreak, she stays positive, following her father's exemple, doing the job she has to do. She tries to support Maggie as much as she can. She might not be a warrior but her will is strong and her enthusiasm often helps her family and friends to cope with the reality of their new world.

After the death of her father at the hand of the Governor and the destruction of the prison, Beth escapes with Daryl. Unlike her companion, she tries to stay positive and to look for the others. They find solace into each other and become quite close, Daryl's strenght reinforcing her faith and her sweetness softening him.

Soft but reliable, loving but a capable fighter, Beth is a very valuable member of Rick's group. She's supportive and positive, her youth bringing freshness to the group. But don't get fooled by her shyness and sweetness, you'd be surprised by the strength of her will.

Powers/Abilities: She has amazing babysitting and cooking skills, a lovely singing voice and some piano knowledge. Beth is your average teenager, no special powers. However, she manipulates weapons pretty well and is quite good at fighting zombies. Daryl recently started to teach her to track and to use a crossbow.

It was a little weird for her, after those days on the road with Daryl, to be able to relax again, to just sit down and not worry about what was going on in the world around her. It was different than at the prison too, without Walkers outside the walls to remind her of the perpetual threat.

Beth liked it at Teleios. Of course, she would like it even better if her father was with her but she had Maggie. And Glenn and all the others. She could see the smiles on their faces and she knew Daddy was right, there was still hope. They had found peace again.

Nights were the most difficult, when she was alone with her thoughts. She missed her father and his absence was like a dull pain in her heart. She sometimes cried herself to sleep or she stayed awake, thinking of what their life would have been like if the Governor hadn't returned.

Beth often thought that it wouldn't be that different than life in Teleios. She would see her father grow old in the love of their extended family, Maggie and Glenn would have children and Judith would become a lovely young girl.

She also knew that it wouldn't last. She learnt the hard way that every good thing has to end, one day or another. That's why Beth wanted to make the most out of her current situation. She wanted to make it worth.
